Effective date: 19 August 2026. This policy was last updated on the date shown. Section 9 explains how we notify you of material changes.
This policy explains what personal information Cosmic Aminos collects through cosmicaminos.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.
1. Who we are

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. We do not collect biometric information, precise geolocation, or information about health, race, religion, sexual orientation, union membership or political views.
3. Why we use it
- To process, fulfil and deliver your orders, and to take payment.
- To confirm eligibility to purchase under our Research-Use Policy.
- To provide customer service, respond to enquiries and handle claims.
- To provide Certificates of Analysis matched to the lot you received.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- To keep accounting, tax and transaction records as the law requires.
- To operate, secure and improve the website.
4. Categories of third parties we share it with
We disclose personal information only to service providers who need it to perform a function for us, and only for that purpose. They are contractually restricted from using it for their own purposes.
| Category of third party | What they receive | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Payment processor | Billing details and transaction data | Taking payment, fraud screening, chargeback handling |
| Shipping carrier | Name, shipping address, contact details | Delivering your order |
| Web host and infrastructure provider | Data stored on or passing through the site | Hosting, backup, security |

We may also disclose information where required by law, court order or lawful government request, and in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you.
5. We do not sell or share your personal information
Cosmic Aminos does not sell your personal information, and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not operate advertising pixels or remarketing tags on this site, and we do not disclose customer information to data brokers or advertising networks.
Because we do not sell or share personal information, we do not provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link and we are not required to process opt-out preference signals for that purpose. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first and the required link and controls will be provided.
6. Cookies and tracking
We use only cookies that are necessary for the site to function: session and cart cookies, login and authentication cookies, security cookies, and the 30-day cookie that records your age and intended-use confirmation so you are not asked on every page. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Do Not Track. Some browsers transmit a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to it. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals, because we do not track visitors across third-party websites in the first place.
Third-party tracking across sites. We do not permit third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use this site.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. We extend these rights to every customer regardless of state of residence.
- Know and access — what personal information we hold about you, where it came from, why we have it, and who we disclosed it to.
- Delete — ask us to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to exceptions such as completing a transaction, security, and legal or tax record-keeping obligations.
- Correct — ask us to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Portability — receive a copy in a portable, readily usable format.
- Opt out of sale or targeted advertising — we do not sell, share or target advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. The right is stated for completeness.
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny you goods, charge a different price, or provide a lesser quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.
- Appeal — if we decline a request, you may ask us to reconsider by replying to our decision.
How to make a request. Email [PLACEHOLDER — privacy requests email address] with the subject line “Privacy Request”, telling us which right you wish to exercise. We will acknowledge within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 days, and will tell you if we need a further 45 days. As an online-only business we do not operate a toll-free telephone line for privacy requests.
Verification. To protect your information we will verify your identity before acting, normally by matching the email address and order details on file. We do not create accounts or collect extra information solely to verify a request. An authorised agent may act for you with written permission, which we may ask to confirm with you directly.
8. Reviewing and changing your information
If you hold an account you can review and update your name, email address, password, and billing and shipping addresses at any time under My Account. Order records cannot be edited, because they are transaction records we are required to retain. To change anything else, contact us using the address in section 12.
9. How we notify you of changes
If we make a material change to this policy we will post the revised policy here with a new effective date, and we will place a notice on the site homepage for at least 30 days. Where we hold your email address and the change materially affects how we handle information we already have, we will email you directly. Continuing to use the site after a change takes effect means you accept the revised policy.
10. How long we keep information
| Information | Retention |
|---|---|
| Order and transaction records | Seven years, to meet tax and accounting requirements |
| Account information | For as long as your account is open, then 12 months |
| Customer service correspondence | Three years from the last contact |
| Age and intended-use attestation | 30 days (cookie); the record associated with an order is kept with the order |
| Server and security logs | 12 months |
| Marketing contacts | Until you unsubscribe, then suppression-list only |
11. Security and breach notification
We maintain reasonable security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of the personal information we hold, including encryption in transit, access controls, and restricting staff access to what each role requires. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a breach of the security of the system compromises unencrypted personal information, we will notify affected individuals in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay, consistent with the needs of law enforcement and any measures necessary to determine the scope of the breach and restore integrity, as required by California law.
